Adventures Of Miss Mode: No day like a Birthday

Yesterday, 9th of May, was my birthday (if you haven't guessed from the heading). I'd already got a ticket to AfrikaBurn and a puppy(Chicory, my new bestie) as my presents from my parents before so I wasn't expecting anything. My wonderful friends gave me cards, cupcakes, chocolate and flowers. Which are pretty much my favorite things in the world, due to that I am not a size skinny and due to my lack of exercise, which hopefully that will change (the no working out, not the eating chocolates). After a great day at school, where I acted very childish, I went home to have a family dinner with my familia. Instead of having a cake, on birthdays you pretty much get caked out, I asked to have a breadcake. Which apparently according to Sophie is a very weird thing to do (do you agree or disagree?).
so...I've deiced to put two post into one since AfrikaBurn was a birthday present. To make reading this easier I've decided to make a heading for each part of this post (this whole sentence/paragraph is confusing, sorry)

Birthday OOTD:

I sadly didn't realize until I got home and taken the pictures, that the pant I was wearing do not look like straight pants on me, like they would a normal person, but more like very skinny weird fitting jeans. Due to that I have taken on a weird pose in these photos to make them look less weird(ill fitting).

Shoes: Chelsea Boots Pants: UniQlo Japan

Presents:

Gift cupcakes from Aerin

My darling new pup pup Chicory

gifts and cards
Piece of china from Japanese shores, found by my mother and made into a necklace for me

AfrikaBurn:

AfrikaBurn was one of the best experiences of my life, I'm definitely going to go again. The late nights of partying, long walks day and night and friends. Everything about it was great except for some creepy men, that my, new found, friends like to say were drawn to my flower crown. It's not for people who get bothered by dirt and not having a shower for a few days, but if that doesn't bother you I suggest you go...as long as you read the rules and stick to them (NO MOOP GUYS and if it wasn't given to you don't take it!)

Adventures Of Miss Mode: Trip To America

This post has been long over due, but either procrastination or the weather got in the way. My wonderful friend Aerin was kind enough to be our model. Isn't she just the prettiest? and she has no make-up on. I'm one of thee worst photographers ever and so when it came to telling her how she needed to pose, I was at a loss. Although I think Aerin did a hell of a good job regardless.

So as you know from the heading,or maybe you follow my facebook page, that I went to the States during the December/January holidays. Only for a two and a half weeks, but they were probably the best two and half weeks of my life. Going to New York was a dream come true, it's a shopping experience, although getting lost in Macy's for half an hour WITH friends is no joke and I got separated from my group because I couldn't remember the meet-up point after 2-3 hours of shopping on  5th avenue. I was proud of myself because I could find my way to Time Square (it's a long walk)with NO map or any help. I got reworded with my New Yorker friends saying that I crossed the street like a real New Yorker and not like a tourist (and yes, I am very proud of this statement). New Orleans was probably the funniest, being driven around by people my age (this does not happen in S.A) and hanging out eating po-boys with my host. I loved the grave yards in NOLA cause they're all above land which I found really cool(is that weird?) and luckily I only got lost once and it wasn't my fault (maybe it was partly my fault). We also went to Alabama for two days and lemme say they LOVE Rosa Parks ALOT, which is cool cause she's pretty cool. Anyway here are the clothes I bought and I'll be updating this post with some photos from my trip later on.

Aerin wears: T.U.K Black Creepers from Urban Outfitter, Jeans (model's own), T-shirt (model's own)

Festival Style: Coachella

The first weekend of Coachella is almost over and with it an almost endless stream of pictures of music lovers channelling their inner hippy. It seems to be a sea of crochet, shorts, crop-tops, flower crowns, bindis and dress in the desert. Coachella is defiantly on my bucket-list, with it including two of my favorite things: fashion and music...oh and food.  One of my favorite is Vanessa Hudgens with her flower crown, dark maroon lips and bindi.

Feast your eyes and be inspired by all the color and if you're going to AfrikaBurn this coming May, then maybe this'll inspire your outfits. For those of you who live on the other side of the world where it's Spring/Summer then let this eye-candy inspire your day to day outfits...who cares if it's a bit skimpy, if you feel good in it then it's alright.

Key Items to festival style:

1. Flower Crown and Denim

2. Floral or/and flowing dress or skirts

3. Crop-top

4. Shorts
